Ericsson finishes LTE sites for PLDT

Swedish telecommunications firm Ericsson has completed the installation of new high-speed Internet LTE sites for Smart Communications, a unit of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co., a statement on Friday showed.

Ericsson said the 250 sites were meant to improve mobile services, in particular for users of smartphones. Smart’s LTE network spans 46 cities and 69 municipalities across the country.

Smart (Philippines) Offers Affordable LTE Enterprise

Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is now offering affordable Long Term Evolution (LTE) post-paid plans and a new LTE device to make its 4th Generation LTE services accessible to more Filipinos.

Smart LTE Plan 1749 and the Smart LTE Pocket WiFi are now available in select Smart Stores in Metro Manila, announced Smart Broadband Internet Data Services Head Lloyd Manaloto.

Offering speeds of up to 42Mbps through the use of the free LTE dongle, Smart LTE can immediately be enjoyed on an unlimited basis until January 31, 2013. Data caps of 10GB and 21GB shall take effect thereafter for Plan 1749 and Plan 3500, respectively.

“New subscribers also have the option upgrade to a Smart LTE Pocket WiFi device. Simply pay a one-time fee of P2,000 and you can super-charge all your devices with the power of Smart LTE,” Manaloto noted.

Smart Communications start commercial LTE 2100 network

LTE now commercially available in Philippins regards to Smart. Frequency band is 2100 MHz, I dont know if it is band 1, band 23 or may be band 10? If you know, please let me know exact band . The rival Globe Telecom soon plan to start LTE 1800.

Smart (Philippines) launching commercial LTE network

Smart Communications, Inc. starts operating the fourth generation (4G) mobile broadband commercial service on Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology Saturday next week (August 25, 2012).

The telco's LTE service is capable of delivering data wirelessly at speeds of up to 42 mbps. 9500 BS was replaced with LTE BS.

Smart has 50.9 million subscribers on its GSM network as of end-June 2012. Its Smart Broadband, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, offers wireless broadband to over 1.63 million subscribers
